Yuzvendra Chahal is most experienced leg-spinner in India and IPL 2022: Lasith Malinga
The 30th match of IPL 2022 saw Yuzvendra Chahal flaunting the best action of the season where he not only bagged a five-for but took his maiden hat trick to turn the game upside down. While KKR were chasing massive 218 runs, a fiery knock from Aaron Finch at the top and Shreyas Iyer’s middle blitz pushed KKR into quite a comfortable position before Chahal wreaked havoc. In the same light, RR bowling coach Lasith Malinga heaped praises on the Indian spinner.
Malinga, who himself had been the star of IPL, stated that Chahal is the most experience leggie in the country and also the tournament. It is important for bowlers to control their skills and Chahal did that well, reckoned the former Lankan spinner.
Yuzvendra Chahal showed how to control the skill: Lasith Malinga
“Chahal has more international experience. He is the most experienced leg-spinner in the country and in this tournament. He showed how to control the skill. That’s more important for him going forward to prove he is good enough to play any competitive cricket,” said
“Leg-spinners have more wicket-taking options and he showed today how he can get wickets and changed the game in a single over. I think he showed all the leg-spinners that they are the match-winning bowlers in this competition.”
Talking of Chahal’s spell, he took five wickets while conceding 40 runs in four overs but the main magic happened in the 17th over where he bagged a hat trick and sent the KKR batters packing in a jiffy. RR posted a great total of 217 runs on the board riding on the back of Jos Buttler’s stunning century and even KKR looked quite fine in chase till Shreyas’ stay on the crease.
Even Umesh Yadav gave some hopes to KKR with his solid hitting (21 off 9) but after he went off, there was nothing much left, as the other middle-order batters of KKR had failed terribly.
