WTC Final: Ravi Shastri gets playful with a dog during practice sessions
While the pressure of the finals of any ICC events is high, one must make sure to unwind oneself ahead of the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India and New Zealand. And that’s exactly what the Men in Blue’s head coach Ravi Shastri did ahead of the marquee clash.
The Indians are gearing up for the battle with the Kiwis by playing intra-squad practice games while their rivals are having a much-needed break after a thrilling two-match Test series against England. Watching all the action unfold in front of his eyes, Shastri decided to have fun with a dog who was not easily moving out of the ground.

This light moment with the dog gave the 59-year-old some breathing space ahead of the thrilling finale. Meanwhile, the Indian players are sweating it out in the middle of the practice matches with opener Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant making the most out of it by stroking 85 and an unbeaten 121 respectively.

Indian skipper too was seen in a good mood enjoying the session. But what caught everyone’s attention was his appreciation to his fast bowlers who were seen cranking it up in the nets. India have Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav among pace bowlers to choose from. Indians are spoilt for choices and this is a good headache to have, considering the England pitches will assist the fast bowlers more rather than the spinners.
In another video posted by BCCI on its social media page, Kohli was seen perfecting his cover drives against India’s pace bowlers, ahead of the summit clash which begins from June 18 June at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
