The non-selection of Agarwal almost confirms Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma opening the innings for India in the final. The duo was paired together in the recent England Test also. Apart from that, India have kept their options open in the bowling department by naming all five pacers and two spinners in the squad. It remains to be seen as to what combination Virat Kohli will opt for.
The final begins on 18th June, Friday in the Rose Bowl, Southampton. The summit clash will have a reserve day in case any of the action is washed out due to rain. In case the game is drawn/tied, the trophy will be shared between both the participants.
India squad:
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha, Umesh Yadav.
