Wriddhiman Saha tests COVID-19 positive for the second time

SRH wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has returned positive COVID-19 results once again after completing almost two weeks of isolation. IPL 2021 has to be stopped midway owing to the growing COVID-19 scare across teams. Saha was one of the players who tested positive two weeks ago and will have to wait for another round of testing before turning negative.

However, it has been reported that Saha doesn’t have any symptoms of COVID-19 now in his body. He has recovered from body ache, fever and cough which he experienced earlier. As the results are not in his favour, he will have to continue his isolation in Delhi and doctors might release him from his quarantine after turning negative.

Saha, who contracted COVID-19 during IPL 2021 stated that he was very very scared in the initial days. His family also went into a state of panic but he was taken care of very well and things turned smooth gradually.

“I was certainly scared. A virus that has brought the Earth to a standstill, after being infected by it, I was bound to feel scared. Everyone in the family was very worried. We reassured them through video calls that there is no reason to be afraid. I am being taken care of enough,” Saha said earlier in an interview with Anandbazar Patrika.

Wriddhiman Saha is named in WTC squad by BCCI

Talking about Saha’s further assignments, he has been named by BCCI in the squad that will fly to England for World Test Championship final and five-match series against England. However, his inclusion in the squad is subject to his fitness as he is still recovering from COVID-19 and it will be a thing to see when he would be fully recovered.

BCCI has already made it strict and clear that players who will be moving to Mumbai for going to England have to test negative on arrival. If anyone is found to be positive, he will be straightaway out of contention.
