World Cup 2023: India’s schedule for the mega tournament
The Cricket World Cup 2023 will kick off on October 5 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, as the previous editions’ finalists England and New Zealand crossing swords in the curtain raiser. India will commence their campaign on October 8, Sunday, against five-time champions Australia.
While eight teams have already qualified for the mega event, two more teams will make their way further after the results of the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers. As the tournament ends on July 9, the last two spots will be filled.
The World Cup event will be played in a round-robin format where every team will face the other nine teams to fight for a place in the top four. The top four teams will move to the knockout stage and will play the semi-final. England will be coming into the tournament as the defending champions, while Australia still remain to be the most successful team in the ODI World Cup.
The one game that almost every cricket fan will look forward to will be the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, which will be played at the world’s largest stadium- the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15, Sunday. Notably, all of India’s games will commence at 2pm.
