5. Tina Macpherson (5/14)
In the first-ever completed ODI played on June 23, 1973, Australia’s Tina Macpherson took 5/14 with seven maidens and an economy rate of just 1.16 in 12 overs against young England women in Bournemouth, England. Back then, the ODIs were played in the 60-overs format. Tina’s spell helped in bowling the English side out for just 57 runs in 31.1 overs. Australian women won the clash by seven wickets.
4. Jennifer Turner (5/5)
New Zealand’s Jennifer Turner bowled a devastating spell of 5/5 with seven maidens and an economy rate of mere 0.44 in 11.2 overs against the Netherlands women in 1993 WC in Lindfield, England. The Netherlands batted first and got bundled out for 40 runs in 54.2 overs as the Kiwis won the clash by ten wickets.
3. Anya Shrubsole (6/46)
England’s right-arm medium bowler Anya Shrubsole bowled a dream spell in a dream encounter against Indian women in the 2017 WC Final at Lords. Chasing England’s 229, Shurbsole dismantled the Indian batting line-up with 6/46 with an economy rate of 4.75 in 9.4 overs at Lord’s to help her side in clinching a thriller of a final eventually winning the World Cup title. England women lifted their fourth WC trophy as Anya was declared the Player of the Match with the hosts defeating India by just nine runs in a nerve-racking final.
2. Glenys Page (6/20)
New Zealand’s slow left-arm orthodox bowler Glenys Page achieved figures of 6/20 in 6.2 overs against Trinidad and Tobago women in the 1973 WC in St Albans. It was the third completed match in the history of ODI cricket. NZ women batted first and got all out for 197 in 59.5 overs. T and T’s women were then blown away by Page’s spell as the Kiwis won the clash by 136 runs.

Another New Zealand bowler, Jackie Lord bowled an unbelievable spell of six wickets for just ten runs with two maidens and an economy rate of 1.25 in eight overs against Indian women in the 1982 edition in Auckland. NZ women batted first and scored just 80 runs in 58.5 overs. But Jackie Lord then spun her web to bowl India out for a shocking 37 runs as the Kiwis won the clash by 43 runs.
