Women’s World Cup 2022: England’s three key players

The 2022 Women’s World Cup will commence on 4th March 2022, and all the teams will be gearing up for the most coveted limited-overs tournament in the sport. The England cricket team has announced a strong squad for the multi-nation tournament and will be one of the contenders for the title. Here are three key players for the England side in the mega event.

3. Heather Knight

Heather Knight is a colossus of England cricket. The legendary batter is the fourth-highest run-scorer for the England side in ODI cricket and has amassed 3250 runs in her career at an average over 35. Knight has been the mainstay of England for more than a decade, and needless to say, she will play a key role for the team in the 2022 Women’s World Cup.

2. Tammy Beaumont

Another towering cricketer in the England ODI setup is Tammy Beaumont. The right-handed batter has amassed close to 3000 runs in ODI cricket and is the fifth-highest run-getter for England in the ODIs. If Beaumont can give her side good starts at the top of the order, then the opposition will have a lot to worry about.

1.Sophie Ecclestone

Sophie Ecclestone is another key player for the England side. Ecclestone has scalped 55 wickets in 38 ODI matches and is a bowler who can scalp wickets regularly and put the pressure back on the opposition. She has been a regular part of the national team for the last six years and is surely a match-winner on her day. Ecclestone can bamboozle the batters with her crafty left-arm spin, and the willow wielders definitely need to be wary of her, as Ecclestone has plenty of tricks up her sleeve.
