WI vs AUS: Major stats and milestones from the limited-overs series

The limited-overs series between Australia and West Indies has recently been completed. The West Indies team won the T20I series 4-1 while the Aussie team registered a 2-1 victory in the fifty-over format. In both these series, a lot of new milestones and records were created. In this article, we will be listing out all the interesting stats from the ODI and T20I series played between West Indies and Australia.

14000 – Chris Gayle completed 14000 runs in T20 cricket during the series. He became the first-ever player to reach the milestone.

4 – Mitchell Starc picked up his eighth fifers in ODIs. He became the quickest bowler to reach the pick 8 fifers in terms of ODIs played.

1995 – West Indies won a bilateral series in any format against Australia after more than 25 years. Before this T20I series win, the last time West Indies registered a series victory against Australia was in 1995.

100 – Evin Lewis completed his 100 sixes in the T20I format. He became the second West Indies player after Chris Gayle to reach the landmark. Interestingly, Lewis is the first player who completed his 100 T20I sixes before completing 100 fours in the format.

1000 – Nicholas Pooran became the joint-third fastest player to complete 1000 ODI runs among West Indies cricketers.

1 – Chris Gayle became the oldest player to hit a T20I fifty among full-member countries.

3 – Daniel Christian became the third-oldest player to feature in T20Is for Australia. In the ODIs, he became the fourth-oldest Australian to play a match.

4 – Mitchell Starc now has 4 fifers against West Indies, which is the most by any bowler in ODIs.

12.03 – Starc now has a bowling average of 12.03 against the West Indies in ODIs. This is the best bowling average for a bowler against a particular opposition with a minimum of 30 wickets.

11 – Mitchell Starc took 11 wickets in the ODI series which is the second-most for an Australian in a three-match ODI series.

1 – Mitchell Marsh scored 219 runs and picked up 8 wickets in the T20I series. He became only the second player to score 200+ runs and take 5+ wickets in a T20I bilateral series.
