We should see Hardik Pandya bowl over the next few weeks: Mahela Jayawardene
The Mumbai Indians (MI) will play their 4th IPL match on 20th April 2021 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai against the Delhi Capitals (DC) outfit. And, ahead of the match against the Rishabh Pant led side, Mumbai Indians’ Head Coach Mahela Jayawardene attended the pre-match press conference.
Jayawardene spoke about several aspects of the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) side. He stated that the Mumbai camp is happy with the tempo of their innings, and also stated that the Chennai pitch is challenging but definitely not unplayable.
Jayawardene also threw light on the evolution of Suryakumar Yadav. The former Sri Lankan cricketer heaped praise on Yadav and opined that the right-hander can bat in multiple situations. The Head Coach proudly added that Suryakumar Yadav is an asset for the Mumbai franchise.

Mahela Jayawardene also throws light on Hardik Pandya
Mahela Jayawardene also spoke about all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Adding that Pandya picked up a niggle in the ODI series that was played between India and England, Jayawardene opined that the Mumbai side does not want to take a risk by asking him to bowl. He concluded by stating that Hardik Pandya is being assessed and might roll his arm over in a few weeks’ time.

The Mumbai Indians have played 3 matches in the 2021 edition of the IPL thus far and have managed to emerge victorious in 2 of those. Also, they are currently placed at 3rd place in the points table.
As far as Hardik Pandya is concerned, the Mumbai Indians’ player has failed to set the tournament alight so far. Pandya has scored just 35 runs in all the 3 matches that he has batted in the 2021 edition of the IPL. And, he has not yet bowled a single over as well. In fact, the last time Hardik Pandya bowled for the Mumbai Indians (MI) was during the 2019 edition of the IPL.
Pandya has picked up 42 wickets in his IPL career thus far.
