We are not here to prove anything, says Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya
Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya who has been out of cricketing action for a while opined on his captaincy debut in IPL for the Gujarat Titans. The all-rounder was last seen in international action in the T20 World Cup 2021 and he was recovering from the back injury that prevented him from bowling. Recently, the 28-year-old cleared the fitness tests at NCA with flying colours and is back in the scheme of things at least for the IPL.
Hardik suffered a dip in his batting form in the previous IPL edition where he managed just 127 runs in 12 games for the Mumbai Indians franchise and did not bowl in most of the games. He still has the ability to clear the maximums at will and is among the few medium pace bowlers going around in India who can bat in top four as well.
The Baroda all-rounder’s extraordinary six-hitting skills have always made a case for himself in the Indian side and will be hoping for a big season.
We are going to be a team that keeps improving: Hardik Pandya
Pandya mentioned that he has been happy with the new team and doesn’t feel like proving anything while wants the team to excel in a good and positive environment. He added that he doesn’t have any expectations and wants the team to be on the improving end. Gujarat Titans will start their IPL 2022 campaign against the Lucknow Super Giants on March 28.
