Watch: Vintage Yuvraj Singh hitting sixes during net session
Yuvraj Singh might be turning 41 this December, but the manner in which he has batted lately has reminded everyone of his heydays when he used to hit humongous sixes for fun. It so happened that the southpaw was tirelessly hitting huge sixes in the nets, and the video has been shared by him on his official social media handles.
Yuvraj retired from international cricket back in June 2019 and since then has only been making sporadic on-field appearances whenever he gets a chance to play franchise leagues across the globe. In fact, he has not even found a bidder since the 2019 IPL. However, despite not playing the game regularly, the two-time world champion showed no signs of being out of touch when he later took up the bat in his hands.
Didn’t do too bad, did I?: Yuvraj Singh
In the video posted by Yuvraj on his official social media handles, the veteran all-rounder was heard saying, ‘Warrior is back’ as he was supposedly padding up to bat in the nets. ‘Meri toh saans hi waapis nahi aa rahi hai batting karke’, he was heard saying during a water break.
The video then was then on rewind mode as Yuvraj was putting his cricket kits in the back of his car, and when asked what he was up to, the former middle-order batter replied, “Maine kaha thodi cricket ki practice bhi karni hai, yeh na ho jab tournament aaye toh.”.
While padding up, the 2011 World Cup Player of the Tournament said that he is always nervous during the first net sessions. Nonetheless, he showed no signs of nervousness once the session started and made the bowlers toil hard by hitting them for maximums.

Yuvraj is not a part of the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly-led India Maharajas for the upcoming Legends League Cricket (LLC) exhibition match which will be played against the World Giants captained by England’s 2019 World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
However, the southpaw might be auditioning for two highly-anticipated franchise leagues next year- CSA T20 League and the UAE’s International League T20.
