WATCH: Mohammed Siraj dismisses Washington Sundar in warm-up game
On day 1 of the match between the Indian side and County Select XI, the top order of India did not have a good time. Both Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal departed early on even after looking in a decent form with the willow. However, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja then held the fort for India and added important runs for the team. Rahul hit a belligerent century whereas Jadeja put up an impressive show of 75 runs, owing to which the Indian team put up a total of 311 runs on board.
On the second day, what hogged everybody’s attention was the dismissal of Washington Sundar off Mohammed Siraj’s delivery. Throughout his spell, Siraj looked impressive with the ball as he scalped his first wicket of the England tour.
Sundar edged the outstanding delivery from Siraj and Rohit Sharma caught him at the second slip. This wicket would have boosted his confidence going ahead in the match. The speedster is on the list to make it to the playing XI of India for the first Test match and a good outing in the practice game can quite help him to arm his talent better amidst the English condition. The Durham cricket posted the video of Sundar’s dismissal on their Twitter handle.

Testing times for the pacing unit of India
Jasprit Bumrah, who went wicketless in the WTC final, also picked up his first wicket of this tour. After the disappointing display in the final against the Kiwis, the pacing spearhead of India seemed to have found his rhythm back on Day 2 of the warm-up game. It is pivotal for India that Bumrah gets his touch back ahead of the start of India’s second cycle of the WTC.
Whereas on the other hand, even Umesh Yadav scalped 2 wickets in the game so far. In his spell of 10 overs, the pacer has bowled 3 maidens, conceding 18 runs. This display by the fast bowling unit of India can help them seal the holes if any and gear up themselves for the big challenge against England and start the series on a winning note.
