Vaughan reckons toss could be the determining factor in the upcoming T20 World Cup

So, it seems that the toss will decide the winner of T20I matches in India. At least, the first three matches between India and England have seen the winner of the toss winning the match. The England side won the first T20I at Ahmedabad by 8 wickets after winning the toss.

India returned the favor in the next T20I and won the rubber by 7 wickets after winning the toss. In the third T20I, the toss went England’s way, and the visitors came out on top in the third encounter and won the game comfortably by 8 wickets.

And now, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has offered his thoughts regarding this issue. Vaughan tweeted that the T20 World Cup in India would be won by the team most adept at winning the toss.

If you lose the toss, embrace what’s been asked of you as a team: Virat Kohli

However, batting legend Virat Kohli did not agree with Michael Vaughan. The Indian skipper was of the view that if a team loses the toss, then they should embrace and adapt to the situation. Kohli admitted that the England bowlers bowled brilliantly with the new ball and made the lives of the Indian batsmen difficult.

Kohli also added that India’s body language on the field was not acceptable and stated that when a team is defending just 160, there needs to be more energy and intensity on the field.

“If you lose the toss, embrace what’s been asked of you as a team. The England bowlers were absolutely brilliant with the new ball. In the first six overs, they hardly gave us anything and made our lives very difficult. We tried to come back as well as we could but I don’t think our body language in the second half was acceptable in the field. Defending 160, you need intensity and energy and that was lacking tonight,” said Kohli in the post-match conference.

The Indian side will be under pressure entering the 4th T20I. Virat Kohli and his men need to compulsorily win the 4th T20I that will take place on 18th March 2021 to stay alive in the series.
