U19 WC 2022: IND vs IRE Preview – Confident India up against gutsy Irish
The Under 19 World Cup has well and truly taken the world by storm. Almost all the teams have looked threatening in the ongoing tournament so far. However, the top two teams of group B are all set to lock horns against each other on Wednesday.
India U19 and Ireland U19 are going to battle it out, and the winner, more or less, shall guarantee a spot in the next round. The confidence of the two teams would be high right now as both managed to win their opening fixtures. Interestingly, both of them were involved in a rather low-scoring encounter.
🗣️ “The main ambition is obviously to represent the Indian team.”

While India U19 beat South Africa U19 by 45 runs, Ireland U19 beat Uganda U19 by 39 runs. With identical fates so far, either of the two sides shall further solidify their chances of getting their hands on the trophy. For the men in blue, their skipper Yash Dhull led from the front with an unbeaten 82, which ultimately helped his side set a target of 232.
On the other hand, the Tector-led side saw their keeper-batter Joshua Cox score a magnificent hundred. However, facing India isn’t going to be easy for them as the Asian side has been one of the most successful sides in the history of this tournament, and have won it four times. Besides, barring Cox, most of the Irish batters struggled during their last game.
Nevertheless, cricket is a game of uncertainties and anything can happen on any given day. Thus, Wednesday promises to treat the fans with a cracker of a contest.
