U19 WC 2022: IND vs BAN Preview – Finalists of 2020 WC meet again
As the group stages of the U19 World Cup is over, teams that have made it to the next stage will now be approaching the business end of the tournament. The Super League Quarter-final on Saturday shall see India U19 taking on Bangladesh U19. While the 2018-champions topped Group B, the defending champions finished second in Group A.
Besides, it is to be noted that both these teams were the finalists of the previous edition of the U19 World Cup in 2020, with Bangladesh winning the title. However, the team in blue has a chance to avenge their loss and beat their neighbours this time around. However, India U19 haven’t had the services of their captain and vice-captain for their previous two fixtures as they were tested positive for COVID-19.
Nevertheless, India still ended up winning both their games, even without a few of their regular players. On the other hand, Bangladesh U19 have been fairly decent in the tournament so far. Although they lost to England, they did end up winning the other two games against UAE U19 and Canada U19 respectively.
Facing India U19 will be a different challenge for them altogether. Moreover, with the likely return of Yash Dhull and SK Rasheed, India U19 would fancy themselves to win this encounter.
