Trent Boult pens a heartwarming note before leaving for New Zealand
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to an abrupt end as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) postponed the event for an indefinite time considering the increase in the number of positive coronavirus cases in the bio-bubble. The postponement of the T20 Championship resulted in all the Indian and overseas players packing their bags and boarding the flight to their homes.
New Zealand pacer Trent Boult, who plied his trade for the five-time champion Mumbai Indians in the league, also took the flight to his home country. As the decorated pacer left India, he posted a heartwarming note on his official Instagram handle to thank the country for all the memories and love.
The pacer posted some adorable pictures from his stint with the Mumbai Indians to bid adieu to the league. Meanwhile, it was the heartfelt caption written by the speedster that stole all the thunder. In the caption, the 31-year-old expressed his solidarity with the people of India in tough times along with showing gratitude for bestowing him with abundant love and warmth.

In the parting note, Boult prayed for the good health and safety of the citizens in India amidst the Covid-19 outbreak while hoping that he returns to the Asian nation soon. “My heart goes out to the people of India, while I am sad to be leaving the @mumbaiindians family and see the IPL come to an end, none of that compares to the suffering many people are going through right now,” Boult posted on his Instagram account on Sunday.
“India is a place that has given me so much as a cricketer and person. I have always deeply appreciated the support that I’ve received from my Indian fans. This is a tragic time and I hope things can improve soon. I look forward to returning to this beautiful country when I can. Thank you again to the @mumbaiindians for getting us all home and going above and beyond to ensure health and safety were the priority for all of the players and families. Please take care, look after one another and stay strong,” he added.
