5.Mumbai vs Hyderabad (855/6d)
In a semi-final clash in April 1991, Mumbai scored an enormous 855/6d in the first innings in 176 overs with a run-rate of 4.85 against Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Captain Sanjay Manjrekar struck 377 runs while Dilip Vengsarkar and Vinod Kambli also notched up centuries. Sachin Tendulkar also contributed with his 70-run knock. It is the fifth-highest total in a Ranji Trophy innings ever.
4.Jharkhand vs Nagaland (880)
In the most recent match, Jharkhand smashed a staggering 880 runs against Nagaland in a Pre quarter-final clash in Kolkata. Kumar Kushagra hammered 266 runs as Shahbaz Nadeem and Virat Singh also scored 177 and 107 runs respectively. Jharkhand got all out for 880 runs in 203.4 overs and the team had a run-rate of 4.32. Kumar Suraj, Anukul Roy, and Rahul Shukla also struck the fifties.
3.Holkar vs Mysore (912/8d)
The joint-third highest total in the tournament belongs to the Holkar team as they scored 912/8d in 214.5 overs against Mysore in Indore in March 1946. A total of six players smashed centuries as Holkar played with a run rate of 4.24. Madhavsinh Jagdale was the highest scorer for his innings of 164 runs. Holkar won the match by an innings and 213 runs.
2.Tamil Nadu vs Goa (912/6d)
In January 1989, Tamil Nadu wreaked havoc on Goa as they posted a gigantic total of 912/6d in 191.2 overs in Panaji. Woorkeri Raman and Arjan Kripal Singh slammed triple centuries as Laxman Sivaramakrishnan also smashed a ton. Raman scored 313 and Singh remained unbeaten on 302 with Tamil Nadu having a run rate of 4.76 in that drawn match. It is the joint-second highest score by a team in the history of the Ranji trophy.
1.Hyderabad vs Andhra (944/6d)
Hyderabad holds the record for the highest total in Ranji matches. The team posted 944/6d in 211 overs with a run rate of 4.47 against Andhra in Secunderabad in January 1994. Maturi Sridhar scored 366 while Vivek Jaisimha and Noel David smashed 211 and 207 runs respectively.
