Top 3 nations with the most T20I hundreds in T20I cricket
Scoring a century is always a difficult task in the T20 international format. A batter has to get going right from the start to reach the three-figure mark. T20 is such a fast and rapid format that there is no chance to take a breather. Still the modern game has evolved in such a way these days that batters often achieve the milestone of smashing a ton.
Let’s take a look at the top teams with the most hundreds in the T20 internationals
3.Australia (7)
Australia is joint-second with India for most centuries (7) in T20Is. The ‘Big Show’ Glenn Maxwell is the one who has struck the most hundred for the Aussies with three international tons in this format. Aaron Finch has slammed two centuries while David Warner and former player Shane Watson both have one each. The highest ever individual T20I score of 172 is by Finch which is also the second-highest score in all T20 matches history. He achieved this feat against Zimbabwe at Harare in the year 2018.
2.India (7)
The Men in blue have seven centuries in T20Is with Rohit Sharma dominating the chart. The Hitman has bludgeoned four tons in the 20-overs format which is also the most by any batter in T20 international cricket. With two hundred, KL Rahul is the second Indian in the list while Suresh Raina also has one. Raina was the first Indian to register this milestone when he scored 101 against South Africa in T20 WC 2010.
1.New Zealand (8)
Batters from New Zealand have hit eight centuries, the most for any nation, in T20Is. The most destructive and dangerous T20 player of all time Brendon McCullum slammed the Australians all around the park in Christchurch when he scored 116* off 56 balls. Colin Munro has scored the most centuries for the mighty Blackcaps, three. McCullum and Martin Guptill have two each while the latest Kiwi sensation Glenn Phillips has one century to his name.
