Three players who missed India Women squads for England tour
The Indian Women’s squad for the tour of England has been chosen. The Indian Women’s cricket team will play a single Test, 3 ODIs as well as 3 T20Is against the England side. While the legendary Mithali Raj will lead the Indian ODI and Test side, Harmanpreet Kaur has been chosen as the T20I captain.
However, there were a few cricketers who were unlucky to miss out on a berth in the Indian side. In this article, let us take a look at 3 such cricketers.
3. Rajeshwari Gayakwad

In the last T20I that Rajeshwari Gayakwad played for India against South Africa, she bowled 4 overs, gave away 9 runs and picked up 3 wickets. Also, Gayakwad has given away runs at an economy rate of fewer than 6 runs per over in as many as 7 out of her last 13 T20I matches.
Surely, Gayakwad has done nothing wrong and should have been included in India’s squad for the high-profile tour to England.
2. Veda Krishnamurthy
Veda Krishnamurthy was recently in the news as she lost both her mother as well as her sister due to Covid-19. And now, Veda is again in the news as the Indian batswoman was excluded from India’s squad that will tour England. With the willow, Veda has scored two fifties in her last seven innings in ODI cricket.
In T20I cricket too, Veda is the 5th highest run-scorer for the Indian Women’s side. She is a veteran of 76 T20Is and has scored 875 runs for the Indian Women’s side with the bat in hand. Her exclusion should surely raise a few eyebrows.
1. Sushma Verma

Another cricketer who was unlucky not to be included in the Indian Women’s side for the tour of England is wicketkeeper Sushma Verma. Verma has always got limited opportunities with the willow and has done a reasonable job whenever she came out to bat for India.
Also, Verma did a good job with the wicketkeeping gloves in her recent outings as well. Surely, Verma will consider herself unlucky after being excluded from India’s squad that will tour England.
