Three batsmen with most T20I fifties in less than 25 balls
In a format like T20, every team wants those batsmen in their team who can score runs at a fast pace. Though scoring a hundred is not easy in the T20 format, achieving the 50-run mark is one such milestone that the top-order batsman aims for. However, we have seen many times that if that fifty comes at a low strike rate, it can cost the game to the team. On the other hand, a half-century at a strike rate of 200 acts as a massive bonus. The same criteria apply in international cricket as well. In this article, we will be listing out three players who have scored most T20I fifties in less than 25 balls.
3. Paul Stirling – 4
Ireland opener Paul Stirling has been a key cog in the team’s batting line-up in the last few years. In the T20I format, he has scored 2124 runs in 77 innings at a strike rate of 139.27. This includes the 18 fifties with a high score of 95. Among these, the right-hander has scored four fifties in less than 25 balls. The fastest of these came in 17 balls against Afghanistan in 2011.
2. Evin Lewis – 4
West Indies opener Evin Lewis has impressed everyone with his explosive style of play. In his small T20I career of 34-innings so far, he has scored 989 runs at an excellent strike rate of 155.74. He has slammed 2 centuries and 6 fifties till now with a high score of 125* against India. Among his 8 scores of fifty+ so far, in the four innings, he reached the 50-run mark in less than 25 balls. His fastest half-century of 18-balls was against Bangladesh in 2018.
1. Rohit Sharma – 5
Indian opener Rohit Sharma is amongst the best players in the T20I format. He has scored 2864 runs in 103 innings with the help of four tons and 22 fifties. Among his scores of over 50 runs, the prolific opener has scored 5 fifties in less than 25 balls. He hit his fastest fifty in 22-balls against the West Indies in 2016.
