The quintessential wicketkeeper: Twitterati pour in birthday wishes for Dinesh Karthik
Plenty came, plenty vanished. But one name has continued to revolve around the Indian cricket fraternity for years – Dinesh Karthik.
A chirpy character who’s always busy at the crease, Karthik has entertained cricket fans with his fiery knocks that have often helped India cross the finishing line in the past. One of his most memorable performances came in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy final when he smashed a quickfire 29* off 8 balls to win the tournament for India.
As the wicketkeeper-batsman turned 35 on June 1, fans, teammates and friends sent in their wishes for the man fondly known as ‘DK’.
From the captain’s corner

Revisiting THAT epic knock!
Happy birthday @DineshKarthik. That 19th over assault on Rubel Hossain and that last ball six over cover off Soumya Sarkar in the Nidahas trophy final was just epic.
Since 2004, DK has played over 150 games for India! pic.twitter.com/f37K9Qz44r— Joy Bhattacharjya (@joybhattacharj) June 1, 2020
