Tabraiz Shamsi reacts to Indore Stadium’s small boundaries
The third and final T20I between India and South Africa at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore produced an entertaining run-fest on Tuesday, the 4th of October. South Africa completed a resounding victory by 49 runs to avoid a whitewash on the back of a breathtaking century from Rilee Rossouw. While the batters enjoyed their time in the middle, the bowlers had a hard time defending the shorter boundaries, and Protean ace Tabraiz Shamsi batted for the bowler’s cause with his latest tweet.
South African batters took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners as every Indian bowler, apart from Ravichandran Ashwin, leaked runs in excess of 11 runs per over. The visitors posted a mammoth total of 227/3 on the back of Rilee Rossouw’s trailblazing 100 off just 48 deliveries.
While the visitors got over the line comfortably in the end, Tabraiz Shamsi, one of the mainstays of the Protean white-ball side, urged for an even contest between bat and ball, highlighting the smallish boundaries in Indore. He retweeted a post that showed the dimensions of the Holkar Stadium, with two ridiculously small boundary sides of 55 and 56m.
“Does anyone know of a way that can allow me to retweet this more than once. Let’s make cricket an even contest between bat and ball.” Shamsi’s tweet read.
