T20 WC 2021: WI vs SL Preview – One final chance for Sri Lanka make an impression
West Indies and Sri Lanka are all set to take on each other in the Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup 2021. The match will be played on November 4 and it is set to be a night game. The defending champions would be desperately looking for a win and a big one, considering they have to fill the gap of their lagging net run rate. They have won only one of their three games so far.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have had a good tournament and can take lots of positives for their future. The players have shown some good performances and there is obviously promise. But, in the Super 12 round, they have won only one of their four games and would be heading into this game, hoping to catch the Windies off guard.
Match Info
West Indies vs Sri Lanka, 35th Match, Super 12 Group 1
Venue: Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Head to head:
The two teams have met each other in the T20 World Cups seven times. Sri Lanka have won five times while West Indies have won twice, one of which was the 2012 Final in Colombo.
Team News:
West Indies: Skipper Kieron Pollard had some issues with his body and missed the second innings of the last game. His fitness will be determined ahead of the game. If he misses out, Nicholas Pooran, the designated deputy, will lead the side. A batter will be added in that case as well. Apart from this, there is unlikely to be any changes.
Sri Lanka: The Lankan team has been consistent with their team in this tournament. They haven’t changed too much and they are unlikely to change for their last game as well. It is worth noting that there were some injury concerns around Theekshana heading into the last game, but he should be available. Skipper Shanaka too is expected to be fit and available.
