T20 WC 2021: Shakib Al Hasan ruled out of the event due to a hamstring injury
Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2021 in the most shocking turns of events due to a hamstring injury. Bangladesh was already having a torrid run in the T20 WC 2021 so far and this will act as a huge blow to the already struggling team in the mega event. Bangladesh qualified for the Super 12 events after having a fine run in the Qualifiers stage.
However, they have been struggling ever since they started facing the big teams in the mega event. They played their last game against West Indies and lost it by three runs as it was turning out to be a competitive affair. In the last game that Shakib played against West Indies, he scored nine runs and had a wicketless outing.
Shakib has always been a star all-rounder for his team for so many years. His performance with both bat and ball has saved the day for Bangladesh on various occasions. Though Bangladesh have lost all of their three games in the Super 12 stage of T20 WC 2021, the presence of star player would have acted as a great morale booster to them.

Shakib Al Hasan scored nine runs in his last T20 WC game against WI
Bangladesh lost their last game to the West Indies side by a close margin and with this blow already hitting them, it remains to be seen how they will fill the void for Shakib Al Hasan. Mahmudullah however stated that his bowlers did a fine job in the last game.
“I think Liton’s wicket was very crucial because we were both set. If that would have been six… that’s probably one advantage when you have tall fielders. Having said that, bowlers did quite a good job but we missed a few chances that cost 10-15 runs. We tried (to go harder at the top) but the wicket wasn’t one where you could hit.”
“When you bowled back of length it was hard to score. The bowlers did a good job, but it’s the batting but it was a close game, we can’t blame batters or bowlers, in T20 cricket some games you win, some you lose. (Dropping catches) that is an issue, we need to do better,” said Mahmudullah after losing against West Indies in their last games.
