T20 WC 2021: AUS vs BAN Preview – Aussies aim to avoid slip up against Bangla tigers
Australia and Bangladesh are all set to go against each other in a Super 12 game at the Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The match will be played on November 4. Australia have played three matches so far and got two wins out of that. However, this remains an important match for them given how the points table is set at this moment.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, would be heading into their last game looking for their first points. They have already been knocked out but would aim to spoil Australia’s campaign in order to return home with some pride. Bangladesh have already had a disappointing campaign but a win to end it won’t be the worst thing.
Match Info
Australia vs Bangladesh, 34th Match, Super 12 Group 1
Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai
Time: 3:30 PM IST
Head to head:
The two teams have faced each other four times in the T20 World Cups, in 2007, 2010, 2014 and 2016. Australia have won all those matches. However, Bangladesh defeated Australia at home in a T20I series by a margin of 4-1 earlier this year.
Team News:
Australia: In their last game, Australia decided to leave Mitchell Marsh out in order to fit in Ashton Agar as a better fifth bowling option. However, the Aussies might decide to go back to strengthening their batting. Marsh is likely to be back. Matthew Wade could also be left out and Josh Inglis, who is sitting in the benches could come in to make his debut. The rest of the XI will remain the same.
Bangladesh: With all the injuries inside their camp, Bangladesh are heavily cooked and look out of sorts. There is no update if Nurul Hasan will be fit to play. Mustafizur Rahman was rested in the last game, according to what the skipper said at the toss. He is probably carrying a niggle. If he recovers, then Shoriful Islam might have to go back to the benches.
