Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Arjun Tendulkar added to Mumbai squad
Young left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, has now earned a place in Mumbai’s squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This is the 21-year old’s first appearance in senior Mumbai side after his successful years in junior and age-group cricket. He and another pace bowler Krutik Hanagavadi have been added to make it a 22-member squad.
“Earlier the BCCI had asked to select 20 players. But later they said that 22 players can be selected in the squad, accordingly the two players were added to the squad,” an MCA official stated.
The T20 tournament will begin on 10th January. Mumbai are placed in Group E which also consists of Delhi, Haryana, Kerala, Andhra and Puducherry. This group will be playing their matches on 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19. All matches shall be played at the Wankhede Stadium. The knockout matches shall be held in Ahmedabad.
Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the side with wicketkeeper Aditya Tare as his deputy. Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out due to a shoulder injury.
