Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket was satisfying as the batsman completely missed the ball: Ravi Bishnoi
Ravi Bishnoi produced an excellent performance with the ball for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) side in their clash against the Mumbai Indians (MI). The spinner picked up 2 wickets in the 4 overs that he bowled, and gave away 25 runs.
And now, Bishnoi has opened up on his performance against the Rohit Sharma-led outfit. The leg spinner stated that his plan was to bowl stump-to-stump and keep things tight.
Adding that Suryakumar Yadav did not pick the googly, Bishnoi stated that the variation caused some trouble to Yadav. The 21-year-old stated that he wanted to ensure that his aim was to bowl in line with the stumps.
“In both matches, my plan was simple, to bowl wicket-to-wicket and keep things extremely tight. As for Surya’s (Suryakumar Yadav) wicket, my thought process was that a new batter has come in, so I should try a googly. If he would have picked it, no issues. But if he didn’t, it could have caused him trouble. So that was all I was trying, to bowl stump-to-stump and ensure that as many balls as possible pitched in line with the stumps,” said Bishnoi in the post-match press conference.
I have been working hard on my googly: Ravi Bishnoi
Ravi Bishnoi further opined that he enjoyed Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket as the batsman missed the ball completely. The Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) bowler concluded by stating that he has worked hard on his googly under the guidance of his coach.
“As for the more satisfying wickets among the two, I enjoyed Surya’s wicket because the batter completely missed the ball and the ball sneaked through between bat and pad. It was very pleasing to get that wicket. I have been working really hard on my googly because earlier I wasn’t getting it right. I have been practicing it under the guidance of my coaches back in Jodhpur in the academy,” concluded Bishnoi.
The Punjab Kings will play their next match on 1st October 2021 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This match will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
