Shreyas Iyer vows to return stronger after shoulder injury
Injuries are a part and parcel of any sport. When a sportsman gives his best to ensure that his country comes out on top, the body might sometimes take a beating. And, on 23rd March 2021, Shreyas Iyer’s dive in a bid to stop the ball from going past him in the first ODI against England resulted in him dislocating his shoulder.
The injury was serious enough for him to miss the ODI series against England as well as the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). And now, Iyer has posted a heartwarming message on Twitter.
Iyer stated that since his injury, he has been reading a lot of positive messages from various quarters. The Delhi Capitals’ skipper ended his tweet by stating that he will come back stronger. You can see Shreyas Iyer’s tweet below.
I’ve been reading your messages and have been overwhelmed by all the outpouring of love and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone. You know what they say, the greater the setback, the stronger the comeback. I shall be back soon ❤️? pic.twitter.com/RjZTBAnTMX

The Delhi Capitals’ side will definitely miss their skipper in the 14th IPL edition. Iyer was the second-highest run-scorer for the Delhi outfit in the 2020 IPL season and plundered 519 runs. The Delhi outfit will have to hand over the mantle of captaincy to somebody else in the absence of Iyer.
