Shikhar Dhawan is set to make his Bollywood debut
Senior opening batter Shikhar Dhawan, who is currently leading India’s ODI squad against South Africa, has made his first movie appearance. The stylish batter will be seen in the upcoming film titled ‘Double XL’ starring Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha.
Dhawan looks stylish as ever in a black tuxedo as he danced hand-in-hand with Huma in the first look from the movie which came in public eye on October 11. A pic of the same was uploaded by the Indian actor on her Instagram account on Tuesday. Speaking about the movie, the film aims to bring out stereotypes related to weight issues and body shaming.
The movie is set to hit the cinemas on October 14, with Dhawan playing a cameo in it

As mentioned above, the movie will mark Dhawan’s first appearance in the film. Speaking about the project, he said in a statement, “As an athlete playing for the nation, life is always very hectic. One of my favorite pastimes is to watch good entertaining films. When this opportunity came to me and I heard the story, it made a deep impact on me. This is a lovely message for the whole society, and I hope a lot of young girls and boys will keep pursuing their dreams no matter what.”
Meanwhile, team India is facing South Africa in the third ODI match being played in Delhi. The series is currently on a balance with both teams winning one each game. The local lad Dhawan will want to play a match-winning knock in the second innings and seal the game as well as the series to shine as a skipper again.
The likes of Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Shubman Gill who performed well with the bat in the previous match will look to continue their good form and give a vital contribution to their team.
