Shikhar and Dhanashree set the dance floor ablaze on a peppy Punjabi number
India’s veteran opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is renowned for his enthusiasm and jolly nature. The batsman always seems in a happy mood and is no less than a powerhouse of energy both on and off the field. This time around Dhawan hogged the limelight owing to his amazing dance video with India’s ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma.
Chahal and Dhanashree had tied the knot in a big fat Indian wedding in December 2020. Shikhar was one among the few Indian cricketers who had attended the wedding festivities and the reception thrown by the adorable couple. The three had reconnected with each other during the just-concluded white-leg cricket against England comprising five T20 Internationals and a three-match One Day series.
While Dhawan and Chahal were named in India’s squad for the ODI and T20Is, Dhanashree had also travelled with her husband to the bio-bubble. It is a well-known fact that Chahal’s wife is an excellent dancer and choreographer, and thus, she collaborated with Shikhar for a short dance video where the two can be seen shaking a leg on a Punjabi song, Boliyan, sung by Lehmber Hussainpuri.
The Bhangra enacted by the opening batsman and Verma impressed the fans as they showered love on the video in the form of likes and comments.
Shikhar had shared the video on his official Instagram handle with the caption, “Hitting the dance floor with the super talented and fun @dhanashree9.”

Shikhar Dhawan’s stunning performance in the ODI series against England
The limited-overs series against England didn’t start on a good note for the Delhi-based cricketer as he was dropped from the playing XI after a poor performance in the first T20 International of the five-match series. The batsman had to warm the bench for the rest of the T20I series as India experimented with the opening partnership. The Men in Blue tried Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli as openers across the five games.
However, Dhawan delivered a stand-out performance in the three-match ODI series against the same opponents. Shikhar emerged as the third-highest run-getter in the series after Jonny Bairstow and KL Rahul with 169 runs under his belt from three games at an average of 56.33.
