Shane Warne questions medical exemption of Tennis star Novak Djokovic

Shane Warne

Former Australian spinner Shane Warne wasn’t much convinced with the medical exemption provided to Novak Djokovic despite testing positive for Covid-19. The World no.1 men single’s player had earlier faced issues of his visa getting cancelled by the Border official ahead of the Australian tour. However, the Serbian star managed to win his legal appeal in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and reclaimed his visa along with his passport.

Judge Anthony Kelly ruled that the federal government’s decision last week to revoke the Serbian tennis star’s visa following an argument over his medical exemption from Covid-19 vaccination requirements was “unreasonable” and ordered his release on Monday. This wasn’t welcomed by Warne, who is considered to be one of the greatest leg spinners of all time.

Shane Warne questions Victoria Government’s silence over the Djokovic saga

Being a Victorian, Warne took it to Twitter to question the saga surrounding Djokovic which states that the latter has traveled to Spain on January 2. Djokovic denied any travel or attending a public event despite having Covid while the accusations keep moving up against him.

Are these facts true? As I’ve read so many different reports in this messy embarrassing saga. Novak tested positive to covid Dec 16 & attended a public event on the 17th that inc children. Said he hadn’t traveled in 14 days before arriving in Oz but traveled Jan 2 to Spain?” Warne tweeted

Warne also wanted to know if the Covid-19 transmitter to Djokovic has been identified yet and questioned the reason for the medical exemption of the 34-year-old. He added about being ashamed of the situation and did not find it right with the Victorian government to be silent despite a lot happening.
