Sam Curran sends good wishes to CSK and England for IPL and T20 WC
England and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) received a big jolt when all-rounder Sam Curran was ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and the subsequent ICC T20 World Cup due to a lower back injury. The youngster complained of pain in the back during CSK’s game against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Later a scan report sealed his fate of his non-participation in the global event, which is set to begin on October 17.
Curran has only played two games in the UAE leg of the IPL and looked of color in both the games as he went wicketless. The 23-year-old is one of the vital players for the franchise in yellow as his vital contributions with the bat and ball have helped the team win games singlehandedly. Since the time he has started playing for CSK, he has made some telling contributions. Even England’s white-ball captain Eoin Morgan trusts him to deliver the goods in the power play and death overs.
Curran though saw the brighter side of the thing and said the time off from the game will help him to be energized and help him getting mentally stronger. He also wished his IPL team CSK and England well and sounded optimistic about the teams going all the way in the IPL and T20 World Cup, respectively.

England rope in Tom Curran as a replacement player for the T20 World Cup
Tom Curran will now join the England squad as the replacement player for Sam for the T20 World Cup. Tom is currently in UAE with the Delhi Capitals team. Like his brother Sam, the elder brother also has all-round skills. His skiddy bowling coupled with handy batting at lower down the order makes Tom Curran a utility player in The Three Lions team.
