Three-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) succumbed to a disastrous outing in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In an otherwise torrid run, England’s young all-rounder Sam Curran was the only positive for the MS Dhoni-led side. Curran grabbed all the limelight in IPL 2020 with his spectacular performance both with the ball and willow.
Ever since Curran has joined the Chennai Super Kings, he has become the favourite target for all the memers and trollers on social media. The Northampton-born often trends on the microblogging site. Meanwhile, it is learned that Curran is a big fan of memes and likes sharing them. As Curran turns 23 years old, his IPL franchise, the Super Kings posted a hilarious video on their official Instagram handle.
In the video, the ace pacer Lungi Ngidi was involved in a rapid-fire round. During the interactive session, when the South African speedster was questioned regarding the player who comes to his mind when he hears the word memes, Ngidi took the name of the English all-rounder.

Sam Curran performed decently in IPL 2021
Chennai Super Kings roped in Sam Curran during the IPL 2020 auctions for a stunning amount of INR 5.5 crore. Curran justified his price tag as he scored 186 runs in IPL 2020 at an average of 23.25 and a strike rate of 131.91. The seamer also picked 13 wickets at an economy rate of 8.19 and an average of 26.46.
Curran carried his brilliant form in IPL 2021 as he delivered many match-defining performances for the Super Kings. Sam smashed 52 at a strike rate of 208 and an average of over 26. Coming to his performance with the ball, the all-rounder picked nine scalps at an economy rate of 8.68 and an average of 24.11.
CSK also scripted an amazing comeback in IPL 2021 as they managed to secure five victories from seven league games.
