The cricketing fraternity also wished Billings on the auspicious occasion. Pat Cummins, Ben Cutting, Peter Siddle, Tymal Mills and many others lauded the couple on the happy development.
Cummins replied to the couple and wrote, “Congrats guys, great news! !”. Cutting replied to them and wrote, “Yes Bilbo! Congrats!!” Siddle replied to them and wrote, “Congrats braz.” Mills took to Twitter and wrote, “Yes guys!! Congrats”
Cummins recently was a part of the Australian team that won the T20 WC, beating New Zealand by eight wickets in the final. Mills, in the meantime, was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. In the four matches he played, the pacer picked up seven wickets at an economy rate of eight.
As far as Billings is concerned, he didn’t have much to do in the tournament. He didn’t bat in the warm-up match against India following which he scored an unbeaten 27 against New Zealand at the Tolerance Oval. In the semi-final, he didn’t get to bat as the Brits lost only four wickets.
Billings has played 25 ODIs and 33 T20Is, scoring 607 and 417 runs respectively with one century and six half-centuries. Over the last couple of years, he has been in and out of the team, but he has managed to stay in contention for a berth in the national side.
