Sajid’s special bowling changed the complexion of the match: Babar Azam
Sajid Khan was literally unplayable in the 2nd Test against Bangladesh. The Pakistan right arm-off spinner scalped a total of 12 wickets in the match and totally shattered the Bangladesh batting lineup.
And now, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is elated after his side’s superb win. Azam hailed Sajid Khan for his performance and opined that the off-spinner changed the course of the match. Azam is also impressed with the way the pacers scalped quick wickets as well. Azam also felt that when a team fights for a win, the results will automatically follow and lauded his team for playing with positive intent.
“We have won both the series. The way we won the Test today was really superb. I think Sajid’s special bowling changed the complexion of the match. And today, the way our fast bowlers took wickets in the morning session was really brilliant. When you fight for a win, the results will come. I gave everyone the message to play their natural cricket. But they played with a positive mindset,” said Babar Azam in the post-match presentation ceremony.
I bowl regularly to our batters in the practice session: Babar Azam
Babar Azam also bowled for the first time in his international career and even picked up a wicket. And now, the 27-year-old has said that he has bowled in first-class cricket before and also bowls to the Pakistan willow wielders in the practice sessions. Azam concluded by stating that he felt the need to roll his arm over against Bangladesh.
“I have bowled for the first time ever in international cricket but I bowled in first-class cricket and in Under-19 cricket on a regular basis. I also bowl regularly to our batsmen in the practice session. I felt I needed to bowl here and that’s why I bowled. I just bowled 3 or 4 overs and I got an important wicket,” concluded Azam.
