Sachin Tendulkar’s current brand value among top 3 Indian cricketers: Reports

Checkbrand, an online sentiment analysis company, has released an interesting report which deals with the online popularity of Indian cricketers. As per their analysis of the social media data available in the quarter from August to October 2020, Sachin Tendulkar is still among the top three Indian cricketers when the brand value is considered.

According to the report, Virat Kohli emerges as the leader with a score of 43.94. Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh occupies the second place with 40.4 score. Cricket’s greatest run-scorer Sachin Tendulkar is third on this list with a score of 37.51. Umesh Yadav, Suresh Raina and Dhoni are next in line. The overall score is measured out of 100. The five parameters which determine this score are followers (20), trends (10), sentiment (30), engagement (20) and mentions (20).

In terms of popularity, the most trending (across social media platforms such as Twitter, Google Search, Wiki, YouTube, etc) player was Yuvraj Singh in the last quarter (1622). He was closely followed by Rohit Sharma (1591) and Virat Kohli (1574), Harbhajan Singh (1376) and Parthiv Patel (1362). From these five, Rohit Sharma and the current Indian captain Virat Kohli are the only active cricketers.

The Indian Captain’s brand value in monetary terms basis the engagement and followers stands at INR 3.28 billion while for Tendulkar it is INR 1.67 billion. The Master Blaster is followed by MS Dhoni at INR 1.24 billion, Rohit Sharma at INR 0.96 billion and Suresh Raina at INR 0.60.

Checkbrand analyzed data of 45 top players on social media for the period of August – October 2020 and analyzed more than 100 million online impressions while preparing this report.
