Sachin Tendulkar reaches out in aid of underprivileged children across six states
While India is slowly recovering from the grip of coronavirus pandemic, there is still a lot of help needed in parts of the nation. The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has continuously poured in efforts in catering to this issue. The cricketer has recently helped in providing the necessary treatment to around 100 underprivileged children across six states of India.
Children are the future of the nation and Tendulkar is constantly striving in uplifting that section of the society. His previous endeavours have been in supporting a children’s hospital and looking after their nutrition and sporting activities. The current program in coordination with the Ekam foundation will help in providing treatment to the children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These patients come from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Assam, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.
Ms Ameeta Chatterjee, Managing Partner, Ekam Foundation said, “The association with Mr Sachin Tendulkar through his foundation has been very fruitful and Sachin has done some very good work in the healthcare space. The association has worked towards providing quality healthcare for the underprivileged.”
The effort concentrates in alleviating the worries of paying high medical costs to receive quality treatment. These children are primarily from underprivileged families, suffering from critical ailments and are unable to afford the medical costs. They have now received support from Tendulkar via his foundation.
