The T20 World Cup 2021 is all set to kick off from October 17 in the UAE where India will play its first game of the tournament on October 24 against Pakistan. As the high-profile tournament is all on cards, various cricket experts are giving their opinions on what squad should India move with. In the same light, former Indian cricketer and commentator Saba Karim kept forth his opinion on India’s squad for T20 WC.

It is being reported that BCCI might announce India’s squad for T20 WC on September 08, 2021. Karim added that selectors should put their faith in players who performed well in the last home series against England. He further added that how players should be chosen correctly for the upcoming high-profile series.

At times, we select players based on the format that is going on currently for the other format. We have to pay attention to the players who were shown faith in by the Indian selectors in the last home series that happened against England,” said Karim during a discussion on India News.

Talking about his squad, Karim made a point that he would go with Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Deepak Chahar as his pacers. Moving to the spin department, Karim put his trust in young Rahul Chahar ahead of experience leggie Yuzvendra Chahal and explained his reason for the same too.

I feel you will need experience. Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Deepak Chahar will be my three pace bowlers and if India feels that they need a left-arm pacer who has the ability to bowl yorkers and slower balls, then T Natarajan.

“Along with that, I have chosen one player between Rahul Chahar and Yuzi Chahal. According to me, Rahul Chahar brings more to the team. His fielding is also quite good and is bowling well although Chahal has also bowled well. If Washington Sundar is not fit, the Indian selectors might start thinking about Varun Chakravarthy,” added Karim.
