SA20 2023: Top 3 wicket-takers
Sunrisers Eastern Cape created history as they won the inaugural SA20 championship on February 12. They completely destroyed Pretoria Capital, who topped the points table in the league stage, in the summit clash. Opener Adam Rossington gave the Aiden Markram-led team a fantastic start, which ultimately assisted Sunrisers in winning the match with 22 balls to spare.
Alongside Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Joburg Super Kings and Paarl Royals were the other two teams who made it to the second stage of the tournament by finishing in the top four of the league’s points table. Eventually, the Orange Army lifted the title under the captaincy of Aiden Markram.

3. Eathan Bosch | 12 matches | 15 wickets
Eathan Bosch represented the runners-up side Pretoria Capitals at the inaugural SA20. In the 12 games he picked up 15 wickets while registering his best figures of 3/12. He averaged 21.40 and finished the tournament with an economy rate of 8.02.
2. Gerald Coetzee | 9 matches | 17 wickets
Gerald Coetzee represented the Joburg Super Kings in the tournament. Though the side could not make it to the final and bowed out after losing the semi-final game against the eventual champions, Coetzee finished the tournament with 17 wickets from nine games at an average of 13.52 and an economy of 8.07.
1. Anrich Nortje, Roelof Erasmus van der Merwe | 11 matches, 10 matches | 20 wickets
Pretoria Capitals’ Anrich Nortje and Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s Roelof Erasmus van der Merwe finished the tournament as the joint-highest wicket-takers, with 20 wickets to their name. While Nortje achieved the feat in 11 matches, van der Merwe claimed the feat in one game less than Nortje, taking 10 games to reach the mark.
