The two-match Test series between South Africa and West Indies is done and dusted and the Proteas whitewashed the Caribbean side 2-0. They defeated the visitors by a margin of 87 runs in the opening game in Centurion followed by a massive 284-run victory in the second match in Johannesburg. 1. Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram enjoyed a solid series as he ended up as the leading run-getter. He racked up 276 runs at an average of 69 with one century and one fifty and the best score of 115. He won the Player of the Match award for his knocks of 115 and 47 in Centurion. To put the icing on the cake, Aiden also grabbed the Player of the Series award.
2. Kagiso Rabada
Speedster Kagiso Rabada finished the series as the joint-highest wicket-taker. The right-arm fast bowler picked up 12 wickets in four innings at an average of 11 and a strike rate of 25. The 27-year-old picked up six wickets for just 50 runs in the second innings of the first Test that set up a victory for his side.
3. Alzarri Joseph
West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph took the joint-most wickets with Rabada in the series. The leading wicket-taker for the Caribbean side, Joseph picked up 12 wickets in four innings at an average of 18.33 and a strike rate of 29.4 with the best bowling figures of 5/81 and the best match figures of 7/111. He took a wicket in each innings of the series.
4. Temba Bavuma
Captain Temba Bavuma struck the second-most runs in the series. He mustered 200 runs at an average of 50 with one hundred and the best score of 172. He hammered his second ton in the whites after a gap of seven years. His maiden ton came against England in 2016. For his magnificent hundred in the second Test, Bavuma grabbed the Player of the Match award.
5. Jason Holder
All-rounder Jason Holder scored 118 runs in four innings at an average of 39.33 with one fifty and the best score of 81*. He was West Indies’ second-highest run-scorer after Jermaine Blackwood (126). The tall pace bowler snared seven scalps at an average of 22.57 with the best bowling performance of 3/48 and match figures of 4/87.
