SA vs IND: Mohammed Siraj all fit for ODI series, confirms Jasprit Bumrah

Mohammed Siraj & Rohit Sharma

South Africa-India three-match ODI series is all set to get underway on 19th January and it remains to be seen if India guests will be able to rule the white-ball format. Talking around the developments of the ODI series, Jasprit Bumrah confirmed in his presser that ace pacer Mohammed Siraj is all fit to play the series.

It has to be noted that Siraj missed the third and final Test of the series owing to a hamstring injury and senior pacer Umesh Yadav took his place. However, going into the ODIs, Siraj is expected to come strong if given a chance in the playing XI of the side. He contributed well enough in the Centurion Test which India went on to win by a huge margin but he picked an injury in the 2nd game.

While India breached the Centurion fortress of South Africa, the team’s pace troika consisting of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Siraj was lauded by many big names across the world. Experts added that India has a world-class pace attack at the moment and their overseas wins are coming mostly due to the same reason.

Mohammed Siraj has 36 Test wickets to his name in brief career so far

Talking of the Hyderabad pacer, he has made a name for himself in the longest format of the game in his brief career so far. Having played 12 Tests for India, he has scalped 36 wickets with one five-for to his name. Talking of the white-ball formats, he has played only four T20Is and one ODI for the men in blue. It remains to be seen if he gets to don the Indian jersey in ODIs as many big names are waiting on the sidelines for the particular format.

In terms of the latest Test series, it was a great chance for India to script history in the Rainbow nation but nothing really clicked for them after the opening Test. After showing courage in Centurion, the Virat Kohli-led side lost the battle in Johannesburg and Cape Town in the 2nd and 3rd Test respectively.
