SA vs IND: Jasprit Bumrah mimicks Ashwin’s bowling action during Johannesburg Test
Team India find themselves in a spot of bother in the ongoing second Test against South Africa. Batting first at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, the visitors got bundled out for a paltry 202. In reply, South Africa’s top order showcased remarkable resilience and gave Indian bowlers a run for their money. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah also failed to take wickets with the new ball and would be raring to redeem himself.
Meanwhile, Bumrah, who’s arguably the best fast bowler at the moment, seems to have some spin-bowling abilities up his sleeves. On Day 2 of the Johannesburg Test, the speedster was spotted mimicking Ravichandran Ashwin’s action. It happened when the players were taking the field for the day’s play. While other bowlers were rolling their arms to get warmed up, Bumrah was seen imitating his teammate’s action.
Fans demand Jasprit Bumrah to bowl off-spin
The video went viral in no time as fans demanded the 28-year-old to bowl off-spin in the contest. It must be noted that England pacer Ollie Robinson was spotted bowling off-spin during the second Test of the ongoing Ashes series. However, Bumrah is unlikely to do so as he’s pretty fit at the moment and India aren’t struggling much with over-rate issues.

Meanwhile, India are 1-0 up in the three-match series and a win in the ongoing contest would see them scripting history. It must be noted that the rainbow nation is the only country where India are yet to record a Test series triumph. Hence, the visitors have all the reasons to showcase their best show in the ongoing clash.
For the unversed, regular Indian skipper Virat Kohli is giving the ongoing Test a miss due to an upper back spasm. While KL Rahul has been asked to lead in his absence, Jasprit Bumrah has taken over as vice-captain. With Kohli possessing a stupendous Test record in Johannesburg, his absence is certainly a massive boost for the Dean Elgar-led side.
However, the home team can’t be complacent as a Virat Kohli-minus Indian team scripted history in Australia last year. However, it would be safe to say that South Africa have the edge in the ongoing game.
