SA vs IND: 1st ODI Preview – India begin a fresh quest with a fresh leader
India will officially play their first ODI after Virat Kohli was removed as the captain of the side on 19th January 2022 against South Africa. Also, the ‘Men in Blue’ will be playing an ODI series after a gap of almost six months.
KL Rahul will don the skipper’s hat, as India’s limited-overs skipper Rohit Sharma is not taking part in this series as he has been ruled out with an injury. Ravichandran Ashwin will also make a return to the Indian side after a long gap as well.
On the other hand, South Africa’s ODI series against The Netherlands was abandoned. Temba Bavuma will lead the side, which will also have limited-overs stalwarts like David Miller and Quinton De Kock in its arsenal.
Both these teams will look to start their campaigns in this three-match rubber on a winning note.
