SA vs ENG: South Africa announce 24-man squad for ODIs and T20Is
South Africa is set to resume its international cricket hosting England later this month. This also starts their home season as the two teams will play three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals from November 27. Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced a combined 24-man squad for both the series and Glenton Stuurman has received his maiden call-up to the national side.
The Proteas last played international cricket in March against Australia and had travelled to India in the same month to face the Virat Kohli-led side. However, due to COVID-19 concerns, the series was postponed and since then, they hadn’t played any top-level cricket while several South African cricketers are currently involved in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE.
As far as the squad is concerned, Quinton de Kock continues to lead the team with Faf du Plessis also in the side. There are no major changes to the team that played its last ODI and T20I series with the likes of Temba Bavuma, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller among others forming a strong batting unit.

Rabada and Nortje to join hands again
Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have set the stage on fire together in the IPL featuring for the Delhi Capitals. They will be once again playing together and probably sharing the new ball against England as well. As far as Warriors’ 28-year-old Glenton Stuurman’s selection is concerned, CSA’s Director of Cricket Graeme Smith has cleared that they are looking towards the T20 World Cup next year and have picked the players accordingly.
“This is an important season for the team, with an ICC T20 World Cup coming up late next year in India.I’m sure that the T20 series in particular, is going to boast some explosive performances for cricket fans to enjoy at home. An ODI series against the reigning World Champions will always bring a level of excitement of its own. I’m looking forward to an exciting return to international cricket for our Proteas,” he said according to Cricbuzz.
