SA vs ENG: Kagiso Rabada ruled out of ODI series
South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada is set to miss the upcoming ODI series against England. Rabada suffered a strain in his right adductor, an injury that kept him out of the final T20I as well.
Cricket South Africa’s media release confirmed the development, further adding that the fast bowler will require at least three weeks to recover.
“The player will be released from the squad and Bio-Secure Environment tomorrow to begin recovery, rehabilitation and preparation for the Betway Test series against Sri Lanka beginning on 26 December,” the release stated.
The 25-year-old had a sensational outing in the recently concluded IPL in the UAE. Plying his trade for the Delhi Capitals, Rabada bagged 30 wickets and finished with the Purple Cap. Incidentally, the Protea pacer had picked up a back injury post the 2019 IPL edition as well.
South Africa are coming off a 0-3 clean sweep in the T20I series at the hands of England. Both teams will now proceed to play the first ODI at Cape Town on December 4.
