Rohit Sharma opens up on Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement for T20 World Cup 2022
Going into the T20 World Cup 2022, India’s bowling is a major concern for the team management and also for the fans of the game. In the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa, the majority of the bowlers looked pale and thus, the team conceded 220 plus runs in the final two T20Is of the series.
With Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out of the mega tournament in Australia, problems are plenty for team India and captain Rohit Sharma is still unsure of the player who can replace Bumrah in the squad.
After losing the final T20I of the series, Rohit Sharma in the post-match conference shared an update stating that the team is yet to find a replacement of Jasprit Bumrah. At the moment, he wants to provide clarity to all the bowlers but is confident of the potential that every other bowler has.
“Bumrah is out of the World Cup; that will be a big miss. We need to find a guy, I don’t know who that guy is yet, there are a few guys. We will make that call in Australia,” the 35-year-old said after the match.
“We need to look at our bowling to see what more options we can find in the powerplay, middle overs and death overs. We are still working towards it. Guys need a lot more clarity and it’s my job to make it happen. It’s a work in progress,” the captain added.
