The new addition to this list is the fast-medium bowler Kartik Tyagi, who made his much-awaited IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Mumbai Indians on October 6.
The young gun had a dream start to his campaign in the cash-rich league as he picked up the wicket of South Africa swashbuckling batsman Quinton de Kock and conceded 36 runs in his four overs. A decent first match ensured Kartik’s place in the playing XI of Royals for the rest of the tournament.

Birth
Kartik Tyagi was born to a farmer Yogendra Tyagi on November 8, 2000 in Dhanaura village of Hapur town in Uttar Pradesh. Though his family was not financially stable, his father tried his best to provide Kartik with amenities to follow his passion.
Idol
The pacer who loves to swing the ball both ways at a moderate speed idolises the Australian bowling legend, Brett Lee. Kartik’s bowling action and celebration after taking a wicket is highly inspired by the Australian veteran.
Struggles
Kartik was down with some injuries during the early days of his cricket career. As his family was not well-off, his father had to sell his farming land in order to bear the cost of his medical treatment.
International Exposure
Kartik Tyagi has played against teams like England, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan so far at the U19 level. He was a crucial bowler for India in U19 World Cup earlier this year.
Domestic Debut
He made his first-class debut in Ranji Trophy 2017-18, playing for Uttar Pradesh. He made his List A debut two years back when he featured in Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018 for Uttar Pradesh. Till now Kartik has featured in 1 first-class match and 5 List A matches taking 1 and 5 wickets respectively at an economy of 1.60 and 5.55.
Under-19 World Cup 2020
Kartik showed sheer class in the Under-19 World Cup 2020 as he finished the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker with 11 wickets in six matches. He also bowled a spell of 4/24 in the tournament to take India to victory in a fixture. He was named man of the match for the same.
Hat-trick in the warm-up match in 2020 U19 WC
The 19-year-old had announced his arrival in the cricket fraternity by taking a hat-trick in the very first over he bowled against Bangladesh in a warm-up match during U19 WC.

Kartik Tyagi was picked by Rajasthan Royals for a staggering amount of INR 1.30 crore in the IPL auction 2020. He finally got a chance in the playing XI in the 20th match of IPL 2020 in the place of Jaydev Unadkat against Mumbai.
