Rishabh Pant will join MS Dhoni as one of the greats: Dinesh Karthik
Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant blazed his way to a blistering half-century in the second innings of the second Test match against the Sri Lankan side in Bangalore. Pant recorded the fastest half-century ever scored by an Indian batter in Test cricket and reached the milestone in just 28 deliveries.
And now, Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has stated that Pant is already on his road to stardom in the sport. Karthik even said that Pant might join the legendary MS Dhoni in terms of his standing in the game and will end his career as an all-time great.
“Rishabh Pant is undoubtedly on his road to stardom. If he has a comprehensive wicketkeeping career for India, I reckon he may join MS Dhoni as one of the greats. These two will go down as two of India’s best wicketkeepers who have played the game,” said Dinesh Karthik as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Rishabh Pant reminds me of Virender Sehwag: Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik also said that Rishabh Pant has the confidence that he will succeed every single time. Adding that the left-hander reminds him of iconic opener Virender Sehwag, Karthik concluded by stating that Pant’s ability to hit boundaries with ease makes him a remarkable batter.
“Rishabh Pant does have the confidence to try new things and succeed every time. He also reminds me of Virender Sehwag in that whenever the field is open, he has the ability to attack and hit boundaries with ease straight away, which makes him a remarkable Test player. In many regards, Test cricket is a boundary-hitting format to him,” concluded Dinesh Karthik.
