Rishabh Pant hospitalized following car crash on Friday morning
India’s explosive wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been hospitalized following a car accident early Friday morning near his hometown of Roorkee, Uttarakhand. According to reports, the southpaw was driving a Mercedes, which caught fire after a collision with a divider. The cricketer is understood to have suffered severe burn injuries and has been referred to a private multi-specialty hospital in New Delhi.
The cricketer was reportedly traveling to Delhi from Uttarakhand when his car hit a divider near the Narsan border of Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal. The 25-year-old recently starred in India’s Test series Triumph in Bangladesh however, he was dropped from the squad for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka, commencing next month.
He was set to visit the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for strength and conditioning before the decisive Test series against Australia in February.
