Reports: Pakistan likely to send psychologist with team
The Pakistan Cricket Board is very likely to send a team psychologist to India during the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is slated to begin on October 5. Since the Babar Azam-led side doesn’t have enough experience in playing in Indian conditions, thus the decision might get finalized in the upcoming weeks.
Notably, the Men in Green will be under a lot of pressure in the upcoming tournament. There will be some extra pressure that will be created by the media and the fans in attendance. Every move of theirs will have a significant impact and hence, PCB are convinced to send a psychologist to keep the dressing room calm.
“Therefore, serious consideration is being given to appointing a psychologist. He will accompany the squad to the neighbouring country and help boost the players’ morale during crucial moments, protecting them from any fears,” a report in Cricket Pakistan mentioned.
